Virus Alert!

Everyone beware if you are now using msn messenger! I almost got the virus but I got off luckily. Whew.

Yesterday, I was surfing the net when when friend was online and she started chatting with me. She said that she had some problem deleting a file which her friend sent her. It was a ms-dos batch file. She said that no matter how many times she deleted the file, the file will still remain in the folder and kept duplicating itself.

Then I typed back: "I think it is a virus of some sort". After that the messenger appear with a sentence that my friend is sending a file to me. You can accept, reject or cancel. The file was named: "She's fuckin it", ms-dos file. I was a kind of hesitant to accept it because of the filename, so I just kept chatting with my friend.

After that my friend called. She told me she got that file from a friend through msn too and the file cannot be deleted. The file also disrupts her messenger that sometimes it will log off itself or some sort of similar problems. After that I asked her, "Did you send me a file through msn?" She told me, "No, I didn't send you anything." Now I know what does the ms-dos file do. It actually sends itself through msn without the sender knowing. It uses the messenger to spread the virus around. Lucky I didn't accept it. I heard from my friend that no harm was actually done currently to her comp except that she got problems logging on to msn. She asked me what to do, and I can only tell her to scan the comp to see whether she can remove the file.

So folks, if you receive a file through messenger and your friend didnt say that he/she was sending you the file, DO NOT ACCEPT IT, because it can be a virus!
