LAST BLOG

SADLY, THIS WILL BE MY LAST BLOG. I WILL BE SHUTTING DOWN THIS BLOG. I WILL NOT BE WRITING ANY BLOG ENTRIES FROM TOMORROW ONWARDS. THANK YOU ALL FELLOW FRIENDS WHO HAVE BEEN READING MY BLOG.HOPE THAT ALL OF YOU OUT THERE WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME BLOGGING.

Blogging...Out of Boredom

Saturday

Met Sharon and Jane at Orchard. Went to Burger King at Wheelock Place to have a bite and also to bitch about our work. Seems that not alot of people are enjoying the work they are doing. Ordered Burger King Kids' Meal because we were not that hungry since we had lunch previously. Forgotten to tell the counter staff to take back the fantastic four toys which comes with the kids' meal. In the end, we took it out and dismantle it out of boredom and left it on the table when we left. lol.

Went to Borders to check out some books. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was launched and there were piles of it near the entrance. Wanted to buy but $40 for a 600 pages book was just too expensive for me even though I can't wait to read it. Compared to the previous launch of Harry Potter Fifth Book, there isn't much craze in queueing up to buy the books. Unfortunately, the 2 book covers available at Borders and Popular are ugly - especially the cartoon version book cover. I saw a nicer book cover in Amazon website which was not available in Singapore.

Sunday

Went to Bugis around 11am with my parents, sister and grandmother. Actually my purpose of going there is to submit my application form to attend the weiqi course but we went to the 'Si Ma Lu Guan Yin Miao' to pray. After that, my mother went off to buy some grocery while my father, sister and I went to check out the Weiqi Association at ICB Enterprise. Upon reaching the place, I was somehow taken aback by the 'very chinese tradition door with the very chinese tradition signboard - those you see in chinese kungfu show'. After confirming the place, we went to meet my mother and grandmother and had 'kway chap' for lunch at the hawker centre. We were lucky to find a table soon enough considering the place was so crowded.

After lunch, my parents and grandmother went back home first while me and my sister waited for my sister's friend (the one person who's also interested in weiqi)to submit our application form together. Upon arriving the place, she was also quite strucked by the door. lol. We were quite scared to enter. Nevertheless, we bucked up our courage to open the door.

I was quite awed when I saw the place. There's a tournament going on and we went in as quietly as possible. We approched the counter staff and gave her our application form. While waiting for her to record our particulars, I looked at the crowd of competitors playing weiqi. Wow, this is my first time seeing so many people so serious in playing a game. However there's one thing I notice about the competitors; There are no female competitors! I think it's expected. Very few people are actually interested in this 3000 year old game, not to say females!

Anyway, I'm attending the lesson this week. Hope everything goes well. lol.
P.S: Actually, I'm quite scared of the environment there...It gives me a creepy feeling...

Haiz~

Just received the letter regarding our graduation in 2 weeks time. Actually was quite willing to go since it's once in a lifetime but as the days go by, I somehow regretted that I indicated my attendance to go to the graduation ceremony. I was thinking like, haiz~ I'm not a merit student, I'm just going there to occupy the one seat at the convention hall to get a diploma that each and everyone will get after studying for 3 years. It seems so insignificant to me. To me, getting a diploma is nothing to be happy about. I don't know why I felt that way but just hope that I won't feel that way when I arrived at the graduation ceremony. Haiz~

The NKF issue was a hot topic and everyone was talking about it. After reading the news, I am totally disappointed with Singaporeans. *shakes head* I have lose faith in them.

I felt that life is getting dull maybe because of all the IT books I've been reading. Maybe I'm really not interested in IT, maybe I will be happier doing designing, I'm not sure. Hope I can find what I truly wanted to do.

Stressed and Tired

As I am writing this blog in the office, my panda eyes were drooping and it's hard for me to focus. *sneeze* Who's talking behind my back! I went to bed at 1am yesterday that's why I'm getting panda eyes in the morning.lol.

Hmmm, what should I write? Now I'm losing focus as to what I'm doing. I've been quite stressed with all the jargons of linux and apache. My desk is packed with titles of 'Linux Administration: A Beginner's Guide', 'Networking: A Beginner's Guide', 'Complete Reference to Apache'. Looking at these books makes my head giddy man. Oh my god, hope I won't become a geek after reading all these books!

Taking courses will be much easier than munching all these thick books when it's too much to digest. Enquire about 'Linux Fundamentals Course' from Informatics. You know how much that course costs? You'll never believe it. $1,299.00 only! The course is only 20 odd hours but it costs so much! *weeps* I'm stuck to covering my head with the Linux Book. :(

I hope I can take the day off and go back home for my beauty sleep. Haiz....

Brought Sushi yesterday, but Moi was not here to taste it. In fact I brought quite alot. I won't say that it tastes like those you buy outside but my sushi was as 'hard as rock' was abit too exaggerating I presume. Probably because it was left lying for too long and our office doesn't have a refrigerator.

I'm abit stressed right now; not really stress but overwhelmed by the task I'm assigned. I need to learn alot of new things which I'm afraid that I would not be able to master it well. Furthurmore, I can only depend on myself to figure things out; of course I can ask my boss but it's better if I can do it on my own.

A bit paranoid by phonecall when Hc went to the toilet. lol. Don't know why.... When Hc ask me to help her answer phone calls while she's away, I started feeling quite occupied, as in preparing myself what to say when the phone rings. Crazy right? Or should I say stupid. I mean subconsciously you should know what to say when you answer calls, why do you need to think? I think it's probably because I'm just too queit in the office that I don't really bother about customer relations and stuff, I just need to concentrate on doing what I'm supposed to do but still it's good to help out a bit right?

OK, I'll end here. Let's go home!

Despite been late for work for about 10min, I enjoy looking at the fluffy clouds while inside the bus on the way to Science Park I. How I wish I could own a farm like Clark Kent living with his parents in the Superman TV Series Smallville. I could laze all day looking at the clouds and ride horses. If I ever retire, I would migrate to New Zealand to get my own piece of land. lol. (I've only started working and now I'm thinking about retirement! Go figure.)

Being a woman is so troublesome, don't you think so? Last weekend went for a facial with Shuzhen. The beautician was saying like wah my skin so dry, my lips so dry, must do this must do that, as woman we must protect our skin, we are so young must try to take care of our skin so on and so forth. After the facial, the beautician introduced this product and that product and all of them costs alot($50 and above). I only bought the lip balm from her which costs 6.50, probably the cheapest among all their products.lol. After that she told me, must remember to use moisturizer, lip balm, sun block, ......... Oh my, so troublesome but no choice, have to heed to their advice if not my skin really will become an old woman's skin. I can't blame anyone since I'm born to be female, haiz.

Finally, there's someone(my sister's friend) who's interested to attend Weiqi lessons with me but there's this itsy bitsy problem: She needs to get her mother's approval. Haiz, pray that she can make it if not I can really give up about attending weiqi classes. Of course I can sign up on my own but it will be better if someone can go with me. Haiz. Pray hard, please, my sister's friend's mother please let her go with me for weiqi lessons....

Shit man! The blog I've just written was gone and I've to rewrite again which I will not do so. I can only say life is boring.......

Is it the fate of a women to get married? The society in Singapore has this mindset that if you do not get married after a certain age, you are considered 'Huang Lian Po'. We were talking about it while we were eating shroom meal at KFC.

We also talked about men will only look for 'pretty' and 'STUPID' women, those that are easily cheated by men through the pyschological effect of praising women or what we say in Chinese 'Hua Yan Qiao Yu'. Unfortunately, women in nature are stupid enought to believe to these appriasal. I don't mean to criticize anyone but this is what I think. Maybe you can say I'm wrong....but this is the mindset that the society has given me.

I'm done with my crap. Better carry on with my reading about Linux and Networking. Haiz...

My Weekend

Saturday

Can't stand my room which is soooo messy with books and clothes hanging everywhere. It furthur adds to the untidiness if the room is crowded with too much furniture. Sweep and mop the floor. In the afternoon, went to City Hall to submit a drawing for the competition organised by the NUS Anime Club. The venue to submit the drawing was at Raffles City Starbucks Cafe and when I reached there. I didn't see any booth or any sign of people submitting their works. I was like, did I go to the wrong place? But after peeking around I finally saw a group of people dressed in what supposed to be 'NUS Anime Club' wordings on their back of their t-shirt(Because me and my sister were contemplating to each other whether is that group of people). They don't seem to be there waiting for people to submit their drawings, more like they were enjoying their coffee! No choice, in the end we approched them to give them my drawing.

After that, went to Marina Square Foodcourt for lunch. Later we took a shuttle bus to Liang Court to visit 'Meidi-Ya' - Japanese Supermarket to look at the Unagi(eel) to make sushi. The unagi was exorbitant and in the end didn't purchase it. Quite a wasted trip because didn't really buy anything because everything is $2 more expensive than our supermarket! In fact, Liang Court was the hang-out place for local Japanese. Another hangout place is Ginza Plaza at West Coast (A place I frequent too!lol) because the Japanese schools are located near there. You can see some cute Japanese guys and also cute Japanes girls with mini skirts and knee socks. lol.

Sunday

Clean my room again but this time is to arrange my stuff and wiping all the accumulated dust on my shelves. In the afternoon, went to Jurong Point Harvey Norman with my parents to look at the Mini Ipod that I've longed wanted for it and since I've got my pay, I can buy it! hehe. I asked the salesperson the show me the Ipod but she said there isn't a sample for us to see so she showed me the box. lol. I read the wordings on the box and realise that Ipod doesn't support WMA format. So I asked the salesperson. Immediately, she told me all the cons of Ipod. She listed the following bad points:

-New version of Ipod does not have an adapter to charge your Ipod. Need to connect through PC before you can re-charge.

-Ipod doesn't support WMA and you need to use 'iTunes' to convert the songs before you can put it in.

My rating for Ipod drastically dropped. This wasn't what I expected! After that, the salesperson introduced me another Mp3 player from Samsung. She listed all the pros on Samsung mp3 player:

- can store pictures and mp3.
- supports WMA format without having to convert.
- 50 mb of free hard disk space to store data.
- and it's 5GB, 1GB more than IPOD.

It's definitely alot more better than Ipod considering the features but it's also $100 more expensive that the 4GB Mini Ipod. In the end, I bought a pink mini Ipod simply for these following reasons:

- The design of Mini Ipod definitely stands out among other mp3 players, not just samsung.
- I have no need for a mp3 palyer to store pictures.
- I don't really trust samsung since their handphones won't last more than 2 years.
- Last but not least, samsung mp3 player pricing was over my budget.

Anyway, I'm happy that I've bought a Mini Ipod regardless of what people said how bad Ipod is. Hehe.
